Bored...again. What did you expect?
Well it appears that tomorrow will be the end of the freak heat wave that has plagued this city since Monday. And of course, I still don't have Steambot Chronicles which has not shipped yet which is making me very...
Bored.
Again.
Quiet.
Well since I did say I would put it up, here's (part) of the next chapter of my fanfic. Unfortunately I've been neglecting it for the past few days so it's kind of gone...no where. But here it is anyway, enjoy.

"Brrr, it's c-cold."
"W-w-we're in the freezer room, it's s-suppose to be cold."
"W-What?"
"It's about time y-you woke up. What, dream was t-too good to get away from?"
Wuyei opened her eyes to see Riku huddled across from her. They were in the freezer room alright, each breath materialized in front of their faces as a cold cloud of moisture. She was positioned against a pile of boxes full of frozen vegetables, her bottom against the cold metal floor: not exactly the most comfortable chair. She pushed herself up and took a minute to stretch, her body was tired, her joints were stiff and she felt like she just woke up from a yearlong nap.
The walls were bare, simply painted white to deflect the heat. Being encased in such a room made Wuyei feel like she was stuck in a frozen dungeon.
And who dragged her here but Riku.
And Riku only…!
"W-w-what are we doing here? W-w-w-what's going on?" Wuyei asked.
"Relax, I wasn't going to d-d-do anything to you so just calm d-down will you? The H-Heartless are crawling around the school, this is the s-s-safest place there is within dragging distance." Riku replied, cold-heartedly.
Wuyei just stared at him blankly, "H-h-heartless? Y-you KNOW what those things are?"
"B-beings of the darkness, they seek out hearts and take them. P-p-pure darkness - that's all they are, just d-darkness materialized. They h-have no mind, no f-feelings, all they want a-are hearts and they'll do anything t-to get them. You saw w-w-what happened to K-Katie didn't you?"
Riku got him from his spot and walked slowly to the door. He nudged past Wuyei who stood in the middle of the room shivering. He wiped away the fog from the window and looked into the kitchen. There weren't any Heartless lurking around, "but then again, there never are…" Riku thought to himself.
"C-come on, we're o-o-out of here."
He gripped the metal knob and began to turn, the frozen metal stung his skin and he winced from the pain.
"D-damn that's cold…"
He turned the knob and pushed outward. A breeze of warmth blasted his face as the temperature at the boundary acclimated. He stepped outward warily, the kitchen was eerily quiet. Pots and pans hung from the ceiling and three metal counters cut out four lanes in the room. If there were going to be a fight, there wouldn't be much room to move. Seeing as there was no immediate danger, Riku motioned to Wuyei that the coast was clear.
"We'll rest here for a bit, but we should keep moving," Riku said, "who knows when they'll show up again."
Wuyei only nodded as she grabbed a seat on a wooden stool. She was cold, her teeth chattered and she was constantly shivering. Riku walked over to one of the lockers against the wall and opened the lock, looking inside he found a small blanket and grabbed it from its place. He threw it to Wuyei, who wrapped herself with it. It was a dirty brown color, with frayed ends and green stripes. It looked old, with a few patches patched in, and had a strange musty odor.
Still, a blanket was a blanket so she didn't complain. Riku took his own seat across from her, he had a few words to say to her before the day was over.

I feel tired but at the same time I just can't sleep...which sucks a lot. Well did I mention I finished Lain? Wait let me check...to see if I mentioned I finished Lain.
Nope the last time was Monday...so here I am...I finished Lain! 13 episodes! 13 extremely unsettling episodes! Is it worse than Eva (worse as in even MORE unsettling?)...well...hmm...what did Eva have?
Souls? Giant biomechanical weapons of mass destruction? Gruesome fight scenes? Psychoanalysis? Sort of a proper ending? Sexual relations between characters? One very disturbing scene with Shinji masturbating to a comatose Asuka?
Hmm...I'd have to say...yes I think Lain is much more creepy than Eva. Probably because Eva came first and Lain came after ('96 and '98 respectively). In fact I do see some influence from Eva in Lain, maybe one or two ideas that were from Eva that formed a basis in Lain.
And then I also saw those ideas become horribly mutilated and turned inside out. Unfortunately I don't remember said ideas. No wait it wasn't from Eva (or maybe it was) but rather from Matrix. Pretty obvious with the "Wired" and the real world.
But trust me that whole "The Matrix" vs. "The Real World" idea gets mutilated, just....horribly...ugh...wait not really an "ugh" of disgust but rather just...well it's cool.
Damn I'm thirsty, kind of getting a sore throat...damn. Lain is a good anime...I'm re-watching it actually, finished the first two discs in English. I have to say though, to try to watch it in one run (it's only 13 episodes) by YOURSELF is almost IMPOSSIBLE. I BARELY got through two discs, and even then there was a 2 or 3 hour time span between the discs. Seriously, you need a friend to watch it with for talking, and laughing, and going "What???" and in the later discs "OMFG! AH! OMFG! OMFG!"
No no it's a good anime! It is! There are no limbs flying (unlike Eva) or brutal murders (Unit 01 I'm looking at...that tree beside you. I'm not accusing you of anything of course!), just a thirteen year old girl going through a PERFECTLY NORMAL life experience.
No I'm not talking about puberty.
Well I'm done for the day...night...this post.

1 Comments:
sounds genuinely messed up. And with your love of Eva and Lain, I can't help but think your i-love-shoujo is but a facade :P
Hahaha.
