Sunday: Twisted beyond everything.

So today I basically dipped into everything I picked up at AN. I read Host Club 03 and 04, and laughed quite a lot. Quite amusing was...basically everything! Especially the return of Dark Hunny...watched the first four episodes of Tsubasa Chronicle, it's OKAY...didn't like how they changed Yuuko's design.

Read some of my Saikano manga...I wish I picked up more of this. It's really good actually, if not a bit...wierd? There's this part where Chise (the weapon/gf) mentions that she's growing, but Shuji (bf) can't see how she's growing (still short as ever) and so their friends make the speculation that maybe it's her breasts that are growing.

And then there's this wierd thing about how breasts grow when you squeeze them...

And then the same friends speculate whether or not Shuji has been doing stuff with Chise...

Which of course he promptly replies "WHAT?!?!?!?!"

Then of course I decided to pop in the first DVD of "Serial Experiments Lain." The first DVD has 4 episodes, the other three have 3 episodes each.

Well I feel that I should promptly say that I watched the sub only, once, and afterwards it was around 9 and I kind of wanted to get out of the living room. I'll admit it, I was freaked out. There's no action, no comedy, it is a bleak world, insanely serious, everything just hits you gradually until there's nothing.

Here's the synopsis of the first DVD.

"We're All Connected
There is the world around us, a world of people, tactile sensation, and culture. There is the wired world, inside the computer, of images, personalities, virtual experiences, and a culture all of its own. The day after a classmate commits suicide, Lain, a thirteen year-old girl, discovers how closely the two worlds are linked when she receives an e-mail from the dead girl: "I just abandoned my body. I still live here..." Has the line between the real world and the wired world begun to blur?"

Sounds perfectly-okay it doesn't sound normal at all. It's just...it's not Evangelion, it isn't Host Club, it's no shoujo in the least. It's just...really creepy. The animation is decent, it's from 1998 so it isn't "OMFG IT'S SUPER PRETTY" but considering the time period, I'd say it's pretty decent. The music is cool, voice acting is fine.

It's just REALLY creepy! Twisted damnit, twisted beyond everything. The opening theme is pretty cool, it's by BoA, not really into the ending theme though unfortunately. I'll definately finish the series and see what there is to see.

Just not all at once.

Well there you have it, the week-long compilation of stuff that's occurred to me. I hope to get the second chapter of my fanfic up on Tuesday night, so look out for it!
