Crap! So sorry I'm late!
Oh man! I was trying to rush to meet the deadline but I couldn't make it! As a result I'm putting this up a bit later than I promised, so sorry! If there are more chapters (and there probably will be) then I'll be much more punctual, I promise!
Anyway here's the first chapter! Don't have a title for it yet, but I do have a title for the chapter. Hope you all enjoy it!

Chapter 1: A Regular Day
"And that explains why the water does not fall out of the bucket."
Mr. Herring said to a class of bored students, all of course not paying any attention whatsoever. The ones in the back were trying to play cards as inconspicuously as possible under their desks, though it was such a poor attempt the teacher just had to pity them. The ones in the middle were chatting with their neighbors in the front; it seemed that no one had any respect for the world of physics anymore.
"You do know that your parents are paying good money for your learning here right? Those uniforms themselves cost 1000 dollars, and yet you all just sit there like mindless zombies," Mr. Herring said.
They didn't even give him a glance; they just kept doing what they were doing. Everyone was too absorbed into either the latest gossip or a card game. So what if their parents paid "good money" for the school? They were already loaded to begin with!
"Detention."
Everyone looked up to the sound of the word and turned to see a smirk creep across Mr. Herring's face, if that was what was going to get their attention then so be it.
"Everyone is stuck here until they finish problems 5 - 50 on pages 582 and 583 of the textbook."
A student protested, "Bu-"
A loud ringing ended the sentence before it could even begin, it was 11:10, time for lunch.
"You better start now, otherwise you might not have a lunch to get to." Mr. Herring said.
There were no protests, no outbursts, they knew that he would only make it worse if they did.
"Gurgle…"
30 minutes later, a strange sound broke the eerie silence in room 206. Mr. Herring looked up from his desk to see his students still grudgingly writing, it looked as though they learned their lesson.
"Alright…I'll let you guys leave but forewarned, piss me off again and each and everyone of you will be stuck here after-school doing the unit's worth of problems! See you tomorrow."
No one said a word; they all just stared at him vacantly, expression-less. One by one they slowly got out of their desks, their chairs scrapping against the concrete floor. Looking somber, they packed their things and creaked open the door back to the outside world. At last they were free (for the next half-hour anyway).
Mr. Herring could only sit back and relax while the door shut behind his leaving class.
---
"Can you believe the nerve of that guy? Holding us in on our lunch break…I mean what good is a break if we're stuck doing homework!"
"I know! And there goes half of our break! My father is so going to hear about this when I get home…"
The two walked down the brightly-lit hallway, holding their textbooks against their chests and jumping over their peers who decided to sit in the middle eating their lunch. The halls were always crowded during the middle of lunch, and empty any other time. Everyone was talking with his or her friends, usually eating food brought from the cafeteria. There weren't many windows, so the air was saturated with the rich exotic flavors of the cafeteria food. Scents of cappelini, and foie gras wafted into the nostrils of the two students.
"Smells like they ran out of duck and truffles."
"Well I was getting sick of it anyway, they've been serving that for far too long."
The two veered right into a more obscure hallway. There were less fluorescent lights than before, and even these ones were dimly lit. To one side of the hall was a brick wall painted black, the other was a glass wall covered by curtains. Behind the glass was the real cafeteria, though a lot of the students didn't eat there anymore, too "rustic" they said.
A shadowy figure could be seen at the end of the hallway, a body that blocked the light peering in from the open doors behind it. It was tall, and its hair gave a silvery sheen. It gave a wave and the two students waved back.
"You're late!" the silhouette shouted.
"Well blame Mr. Herring, the ass decided to hold us back half-an-hour."
"Well so long as you're here, let's play some 'Hearts'. Taylor and I skipped last period so we've been here playing 'Go Fish' for more than a hour…trust me it got boring."
A boy stood up from the darkness in the corner; he gave a quick yawn and said "about time. What were you girls doing, powdering your nose?"
The boy in the doorway could only stand there and laugh, while Taylor snickered at his little remark.
"Oh man, we're are so not going to let you get away with that right Katie?"
There was no response though. "Katie?" she asked as she looked to her right to see Katie just standing there, her head slightly tilted, her arms becoming limp. Katie's face started to lose all color as she dropped her textbooks to the floor. Her arms fell to her sides, as everyone gasped with shock. A blood-covered claw was gaping through Katie's chest, blood seeping from the wound to her uniform. The claw retracted back from Katie's chest, pulling Katie back a bit before her lifeless body collapsed to the floor, creating a pool of blood in the hallway.
Her assailant stood its ground, there before its victim. Its two beady, yellow eyes stared from within the dimly lit hallway, its movements erratic. Two antennae protruded backward from the posterior of its head. A small body was its core, with two long bent legs. Its arms were long and slender, with three digits composing a claw. It looked down at the corpse, as did the trio, who only stood there in shock of the events that unfolded.
A small light shone from Katie's body, from within her chest wound. A shining heart started to emerge and float in mid-air, but it was brief as the heart started to fade in a mist of darkness, to reveal another attacker in its place.
She started to step back, toward her friends, toward a possible escape. Clutching her textbooks tightly to her chest, she took a single step backward being careful to not trip over her friend's body. Tears began to flow forth from her eyes, thoughts of her friend being killed so ruthlessly. Memories flashed before her, some from the distant past and others from simply yesterday. How many years did she know Katie? Wouldn't it have been the 11th year tomorrow? Or was it still a few months ahead? She shook her head, trying to fight the tears, what mattered most right now was to survive, she could grieve later but only if she was alive to do it.
The two beings just stood their ground, moving erratically as before. Were they trying to decide whom to kill her? Or did they just like to play with their prey? Her heart started to race at the thought of death. Was she going to be the next one? Or would it be Taylor, or Ansem? Her heart beat louder, faster and as she took another step everything around her started to fade out.
"Wuyei, look out!"
Her senses returned to her, she could feel she was falling, falling into darkness. She looked down, to see blood spattered all over her textbook. Black tips showed slightly through her white shirt, though they were now botched with her own blood.
"It all…returns to nothing…" she murmured.
She closed her eyes, and let the darkness enter her heart.

So how was it? Wasn't too boring I hope! I'll put it up on fanfiction.net later if anyone wants to review there, though I have a feeling I'll put it up all at once (the whole story). Anyway, there you go!
