I love food!
You know when you don't eat anything for a few hours, and you're really tired and kind of drained? You know how when a steaming hot dish of FOOD is placed in front of you, and when the first morsel lands on your palate, you just get this warm feeling of being joyfully content?
Pretty much just had that experience: had a coffee and pancake at 9:30, currently eating some noodles, and yes, so good.
Notice how I didn't say hot OR COLD dish, I just said hot? Well according to the literature the tastebuds on your tongue are much more receptive and active at higher temperatures than colder temperatures. This is why ice cream is so chock full of sugar: the low temperatures of the ice cream require that more sugar be added in order to have the same taste if the ice cream were at a warmer temperature (i.e. if equal amounts of sugar were added, the frozen ice cream would taste less sweet, or nothing at all).
PHYSIOLOGY ROCKS!
