"Things even Robin would NEVER say..."

Well I had my laugh there, or chuckle, just chuckle damnit...ANYWAY! There is some truth in that title, I actually screamed an exclamation when I found out a certain truth, but not like Robin, no, I went "Jeez! There really is a chain of 500!"

Now some of you may ask "what is a chain of 500."

Let me explain.

In Star Ocean 3, there are "Battle Trophies," accomplishments YOU the player earns throughout the game, some may be "Defeat Luther," while others may be "Defeat Luther within 5 mins."

Now, a chain is basically a bonus battle that occurs consecutively.

A bonus battle, is...a bonus battle. It's a regular battle, except at the end you get better "prizes," dependent on 4 factors.

- Triple EXP
- Double Fol
- Increased Recovery Rate
- Increased chance of an item

During a battle, on the right is a meter, next to the meter is a percentage. This usually dictates how far you are from the recommended level. Say, I'm level 1, and I enter an area with monsters level...255. Now, set the recommended level percentage to 100%, in effect, this percent should INCREASE, because I am below the recommended level (which may be 100). Now, the more attacks you pull off, the faster the meter is filled, when it is filled, you enter a "bonus battle," where one of the 4 factors come into play.

The problem is, a bonus battle can end if...

- The character you control is hit by a major attack
- The character you control dies
- Guard is broken

Or some other crap, in which the bonus battle ends.

It is possible to receive all 4 factors, say I enter a bonus with triple EXP, in 5 bonus battles later (consecutive) I get double fol, in another 5 I get blah blah, you get the idea.

Now back to Battle Trophies.

22. Chain of 3
23. Chain of 10
24. Chain of 30

Those are 3 trophies to obtain...like I said a chian is a string of consecutive bonus battles. So chain of 3 is 3 bonus battles.

Now those are relatively easy to get, I got them already, easy.

Then there is

25. Chain of 60

I just received that after much training with my characters. I remember seeing something MUCH worse, so I check, and it is true. It is true that there is a

26. Chain of 100

Now I'm on chain 75, so no worries...

27. Chain of 250

Umm.....

28. Chain of 500

I've been fighting killer trees for the past 2 hours, have raised my levels over 25 (I started at 20, now Maria, Cliff and Nel are 25) and soon I will be uberly powerful to take on the Shine of Kaddan.

Oh, I'm wrong, chain of 80 right now.

Anyway, I'm going for chain of 100 right now, so wish me luck, hopefully before I have to leave for that blasted party.
