First impressions of Princess Tutu
At first the series kind of, horribly typical.
Good hearted, yet clumsy female protagonist? Check.
Friends that tease the protagonist often, but with good intentions? Check.
Quiet pretty boy, that appears to have a substantial role? Check.
Louder, obnoxious pretty boy? Check.
Other female that is better than the protagonist in many ways? Check.
What appears to be shoddy animation? Check.
Nothing distinguishable? Che----wait.
What's this about ballet?
Starting episode 3, I perked up and found the series to be good. Not amazingly excellent, but good and strong enough to be distinguishable.
Though so far (after 4 episodes), it really seems to be monster-of-the-week formula. And we all know how THOSE series turn out (hint: either really freaking good, mediocre, or horrible).
I'm putting money on really freaking good.
