Okay, so I got this quote just like, 10 mins ago so it's a BIG thing, from Chrono Cross it was. It's not a BAD game, but it isn't Chrono Trigger, which is sad. Still, have a kick ass story, make a SHITLOAD of references and a very very unique battling system, and you have Chrono Cross. More on it after the quote.

Man, I wish I had that theme from Gundam Seed, where any sort of sentimental scene occurs, it's a pretyty kick ass theme. In fact, I WOULDN'T MIND IT FOR A BIRTHDAY PRESENT IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN! HINT HINT! NUDGE NUDGE! KICK KICK! OWNAGE!!!!
Uh, if y'all can't figure it out, my birthday is coming up, infact, looking at the calender, it will be in...3 days once I return to the past in my brand new SUPER OWNAGED EPOCH.

So...Chrono Cross. The battle system is like a cross (HAhAHA! ) between Star Ocean 3's battle system, and something else so completely random, and every other turn-based RPG, and of course Chrono Trigger.
Okay, so first, you run into an enemy, like you RUN into them. no random battles, just bump into someone and WHOOSH, you're off to an arena. So that's the Chrono Trigger part, but that's where it ends.
So, you're facing a bunch of guys, and you're like Uh...wtf? See, you can't use magic or "elements," first you have to build up your grid power. How you do so? You select attack, select an enemy, character runs up, then choose either 1, 2 or 3.
1 = weak
2 = strong
3 = fierece
Got 7 stamina points, which 1 uses one point, 2 uses two and 3 uses five, no actually just three.
Now, if you land a hit with a weak attack, you get 1 grid power. That means, that you can use any elements in your level 1 grid. Hit with 3, and you get 3 grid powers, so levels 1, 2 and 3 are open to you. Oh, and they add up too, so hit 3, then 2, then 1 you get up to level 6.
You can only use magic if you have at least 1 stamina point, and when you do, you use up 7 points, so you DO go into negatives. How you recover them? Simply have something else happen! Like another attack by another character, or go into defend, or something! So yeah, it's like Star Ocean because you use stamina, but it's like some other random game,because I don't know what else to compare it to!
It's a good game though, lots of references, which is what really hits it for me.
Problems, always problems. 44 characters, too many characters, adn some are just stupid, like a straw doll, called Mojo...hate that guy. Hate that guy so much THAT I WILL! And Guile, Guile! WHY! WHY NOT HAVE HIM AS MAGUS! BUT NOOOOO! SCRAP THAT IDEA! BAH! He looks pretty homo anyway.
My god...Calculus test, oh my bad, EXAM on Monday. Final Exam, and then REVIEW! OF THE EXAMS! NOT FOR MORE TESTS YOU FOOLS!
